1. Peer-review policy
Submissions to the journal are assessed by independent referees who make recommendations on the suitability of the articles for publication. We are committed to providing a timely assessment of articles and authors are informed of the publication decision as soon as possible.
This journal uses double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process.
All submitted manuscripts to IJRRS should be original and any part of the article should not be plagiarized. Even reviewed the article before any decision, the content is checked for plagiarism through the Plagiarism software. For any submitted manuscript, the plagiarism level greater than 20% including author name, affiliation, and references is automatically rejected.
2. Article types
Original Research Paper: It is the report of a study written by the researchers who actually did the study. The researchers describe their hypothesis or research question and the purpose of the study. The researchers detail their research methods and discuss their results.
Review Paper: A critical review of the state-of-the-art with examples of applications in design and profitable manufacture without extensive analysis.
Case Study Paper: Describes the application of a technique, procedure, or management concept in a real situation.
In general, Orginal Research Papers, Review Papers, and Case Studies should normally be between 4000-7000 words (with up to 10 illustrations).
3. How to submit your manuscript
We have a fully-integrated online submission and peer review system for the International Journal of Reliability, Risk and Safety. To submit to the journal, either click on the ‘Manuscript submission’ tab on this page or go directly to http://ijrrs.com/dashboard/Author/senda.aspx.
We would welcome suggestions from at least two appropriate referees. This will assist us in enhancing our referee database and one or more of your suggestions may be asked to review your submission.
The journal template has been designed for authors working with Word 2016 or higher. The predefined style formats are available for all the necessary structures to be included in the manuscript. The respective format is as follows:

4. Journal contributor’s publishing agreement
Before publication IJRRS requires the author as the rights holder to sign a Journal Contributor’s Publishing Agreement. IJRRS’s Journal Contributor’s Publishing Agreement is an exclusive license agreement which means that the author retains copyright in the work but grants IJRRS the sole and exclusive right and license to publish for the full legal term of copyright. Exceptions may exist where an assignment of copyright is required or preferred by a proprietor other than IJRRS. In this case, the copyright in the work will be assigned from the author to Professional Engineering Publishing Ltd (PEP). 4.3 IJRRS Open access
This journal is a peer-reviewed and golden open-access journal. All published paper is distributed online and free of cost or other barriers. This policy maximizes the author's research impact.
5. Declaration of conflicting interests
Within your Journal Contributor’s Publishing Agreement you will be required to make a certification concerning a declaration of conflicting interests. It is the policy of International Journal of Reliability, Risk, and Safety: Theory and Application to require a declaration of conflicting interests from all authors enabling a statement to be carried within the paginated pages of all published articles. Please include any declaration at the end of your manuscript after any acknowledgments and before the references, under the heading ‘Declaration of Conflicting Interests. If no declaration is made the following will be printed under this heading in your article: ‘None Declared’. Alternatively, you may wish to state that ‘The Author(s) declare(s) that there is no conflict of interest.
When making a declaration the disclosure information must be specific and include any financial relationship that all authors of the article have with any sponsoring organization and the for-profit interests the organization represents, and with any for-profit product discussed or implied in the text of the article. Any commercial or financial involvements that might represent an appearance of a conflict of interest need to be additionally disclosed in the cover letter accompanying your article to assist the Editor in evaluating whether sufficient disclosure has been made within the Declaration of Conflicting Interests provided in the article. Any acknowledgments should appear first at the end of your article before your Declaration of Conflicting Interests (if applicable), any notes, and your References. All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed in an “Acknowledgements” section. Examples of those who might be acknowledged include a person who provided purely technical help, or writing assistance, or a department chair who provided only general support. Authors should disclose whether they had any writing assistance and identify the entity that paid for this assistance.
7.1 Funding Acknowledgement
To comply with the guidance for Research Funders, Authors and Publishers issued by the Research Information Network (RIN), Aerospace Research Institute (ARI), International Journal of Reliability, Risk and Safety: Theory and Application additionally requires all Authors to acknowledge their funding consistently under a separate heading. All research articles should have a funding acknowledgment in the form of a sentence as follows, with the funding agency written out in full, followed by the grant number in square brackets: This work was supported by the Space Research Council [grant number xxx]. Multiple grant numbers should be separated by comma and space. Where the research was supported by more than one agency, the different agencies should be separated by a semicolon, with “and” before the final funder. Thus: This work was supported by the Propulsion Research Center [grant numbers xxxx, yyyy]; the Natural Environment Research Council [grant number zzzz]; and the Nuclear and Power Plant Council [grant number aaaa].
In some cases, research is not funded by a specific project grant, but rather from the block grant and other resources available to a university, college, or other research institution. Where no specific funding has been provided for the research we ask that corresponding authors use the following sentence: This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors. Please include this information under a separate heading entitled “Funding” directly after any other Acknowledgements before your “Declaration of Conflicting Interests” (if applicable), any Notes, and your References.
Important note: If you have any concerns that the provision of this information may compromise your anonymity dependent on the peer review policy of this journal outlined above, you can withhold this information until the final accepted manuscript.

9. Manuscript style
9.1 File types
Only electronic files conforming to the journal's guidelines will be accepted. Preferred formats for the text and tables of your manuscript are Word Doc and Docx files are accepted. Please also refer to the additional guidelines below on submitting artwork [and supplemental files].
9.2 Journal Style
The preferred order of contents for Proceedings of the Iranian Aerospace Research Institute (ARI), International Journal of Reliability, Risk and Safety are as follows:
(a) Title of the article.
(b) Author(s) name(s) and full affiliation address.
(c) Abstract of not more than 300 words: covering the aims of the work, methods used, results obtained and conclusions reached; keywords for information retrieval purposes should be indicated.
(d) Body of the paper: organized into logical sections, sequentially numbered with no more than two grades of subheadings.
(f) List of captions for the illustrations which should also be numbered consecutively throughout the text; both line drawings and photographs must be included in the same numbering sequence.
(g) List of notation as the first appendix, in alphabetical order, defining all the symbols used in the paper (see 4 above).
Within the text, references should be cited in numerical order according to their order of appearance. The numbered citation should be enclosed in brackets.
The format of the references and referencing in the text should be inserted using the IEEE method and using the EndNote software.
For example, a journal paper should be written as follow:
9.4. Manuscript Preparation
The text should be double-spaced and with a minimum of 3cm for left and right-hand margins and 5cm at head and foot. The text should be standard 10 or 12 points.
9.4.1 Your Title, Keywords, and Abstracts: Helping readers find your article online
The title, keywords and abstract are key to ensuring readers find your article online through online search engines such as Google. Please refer to the information and guidance on how best to title your article, write your abstract and select your keywords by visiting IJRRS’s Journal Author Gateway Guidelines on How to Help Readers Find Your Article Online.
9.4.2 Corresponding Author Contact details
Provide full contact details for the corresponding author including email, mailing address, and telephone numbers. Affiliations are required for all co-authors. These details should be presented separately from the main text of the article to facilitate anonymous peer review and ensure document properties are also anonymized.
9.4.3 Nomenclature and Units
Follow internationally accepted rules and conventions: use the international system of units (SI). If other quantities are mentioned, give their equivalent in SI. Authors wishing to present a table of nomenclature should do so on the second page of their manuscript.
9.4.4 Guidelines for submitting artwork, figures, and other graphics
Figures: All figures should be referenced in the text, Also, their quality should be at least 300 dpi.
Mathematical: All vectors and matrices should be shown in bold type. Avoid confusion between ambiguous characters and take care to ensure that subscripts and superscripts are clear. Numbers below 10 should be written out in the text unless used in conjunction with units (e.g. three apples, 4 kg). Full points (not commas) should be used for decimals. For numbers less than one, naught should be inserted before the decimal point. Use spaces (not commas) within numbers (e.g. 10 000, 0.125 275).
Equations: All equations should be numbered sequentially within the manuscript, e.g. (1) for the first equation and (2) for the second equation in the text. you should use a table for each equation and write the number on the right-hand side of the page. For example, use the following format.
9.4.5 Guidelines for submitting supplemental files
This journal can host approved supplemental materials online, alongside the full text of articles. Supplemental files will be subjected to peer review alongside the article. For more information please refer to IJRRS’s Guidelines for Authors on Supplemental Files.
10. After acceptance
We will email a PDF of the proofs to the corresponding author.
10.2 E-Prints and Complimentary Copies
IJRRS provides authors with access to a PDF of their final article.
10.3 IJRRS Production
At IJRRS we work to the highest production standards. We attach great importance to our quality service levels in copy-editing, typesetting, printing, and online publication. We also seek to uphold excellent author relations throughout the publication process.
We value your feedback to ensure we continue to improve our author service levels. On publication, all corresponding authors will receive a brief survey questionnaire on their experience of publishing in the International Journal of Reliability, Risk, and Safety: Theory and Application.
10.4 Online First Publication
Proceedings of the Aerospace Research Institute (ARI), International Journal of Reliability, Risk and Safety: Theory and Application benefits from Online First, a feature offered through IJRRS’s electronic journal platform, IJRRS Journals Online. It allows final revision articles (completed articles in the queue for assignment to an upcoming issue) to be hosted online before their inclusion in a final print and online journal issue, which significantly reduces the lead time between submission and publication.
